LOGLINE

A late-night confrontation between three teenage girls spirals into violence, unraveling the fragile bond between friends and exposing the devastating cost of one irreversible decision.

SYNOPSIS

Maya, a shy sixteen-year-old tries to protect herself and her little brother from the chaos at home. When a bully named Tamara pushes things too far one night, Maya’s best friend Jay intervenes — and in one split-second decision, everything goes horribly wrong.

As the girls flee the scene and struggle to process what they’ve done, their world begins to collapse. Maya’s guilt grows. Jay becomes desperate. "Unraveled” was born from silence and the idea of how someone's impulsive decision can destroy the life of someone else trying their best to hold everything together. The kind of silence that young people carry when they feel unseen, misunderstood, or trapped between right and wrong. As a storyteller, I’m drawn to the quiet moments. The looks, pauses, and choices that define who we become when the world stops making sense. This film explores guilt, trauma, and the cost of silence. It’s about the way pain echoes through families, friendships, and futures. I want the audience to feel the heaviness of Maya’s world and the moment it collapses.

It follows a teenage girl who finally decides to stand up for herself, only to discover that one act of protection can unravel everything she knows. This isn’t just a story about bullying or violence, it’s about love, fear, and how loyalty can both save us and destroy us. I wanted to explore how moments of panic and pain ripple far beyond the people directly involved. Through Maya’s eyes, we see what it means to grow up too fast, to carry guilt that doesn’t belong to you, and to survive when innocence has already been lost.

Visually, I want this film to feel intimate yet cinematic. The kind of story that breathes in realism and emotion. Every shot should pull the audience into Maya’s world, allowing them to feel her fear, confusion, and heartbreak. Unraveled is not about what happened that night; it’s about what remains afterward. The quiet echo of following someone else's decision you can never take back.
